Teens today spend more time on the Internet than watching TV... I thought I'd draw up these '10 Commandments' as a guide to them, as they surf through dangerous cyber waters on the Web.
- Thou shalt beware that it’s easier to find evil on the Internet than good.
- Thou shalt not give thy personal details to anyone thou knowest not.
- Thou shalt bear in mind that on the Internet anyone can pretend to be somebody else, therefore increasing thy chances of being tricked. ‘Friend’ on a social site may in fact be an enemy.
- Thou shalt flee from sites whose content doesn’t build you up, just like Christians should avoid places that are not beneficial to their faith.
- Thou shalt avoid people who flirt with thee online like the plague.
- Thou shalt not set up ‘dates’ via the Internet with people thou knowest not. Remember thou the third commandment.
- Thou shalt remember that whatsoever thou revealest of thy life on the Internet, as well as thy words and behavior, are being watched by others – and are therefore thy testimony.
- Thou shalt not spend hours on end surfing the net mindlessly, at the expense of thy other responsibilities. Remember thou that there is life outside the Internet too.
- Thou shalt not look at pornography on the Internet, under any excuse. Thou shalt keep thy mind, thy eyes, and thine heart.
- Thou shalt be a force for good on the Internet and not an accomplice of evil.
Pass these 10 Commandments on to every friend, nephew, son, daughter, parent, teacher, youth leader you know!

Bishop these are the things I always do in the Internet...always avoiding the bad things. Really good for us teenagers!
These 10 Commandment of the Young Christian Web User are excellent and should be striclty adhered to.
Well done Bishop Renato - these 10 commandments, for teenagers, are long overdue.
Bishop Renato,
These 10 Commandments of the Young Christian Web User are extremely good.
Now that my son is older I shall enlarge them, print them off, bring them to his attention, ask him to strictly adhere to them and stick them by his computer.
Good stuff!
Thank you for these.
These rules on here are good and they are things we need to think about as youths and they need to be applied in not just the internet but in general,as there is so many negative things used to target youths with technology,to pass on the worldly ways. This has inspired me to open my eyes more and protect myself more from things that could be used to attack my faith. Also as I am a leader I would like to share this with my tribe to help them grow.
I found them to be helpful and true because I rarely watch TV anymore, always online either doing school work but theres always so many distraction. Having this guide helps me to avoid sites that are not suitable.
This is wow. The 7th commandment stood out the most . About what we write on the net as its been seen and is my testimony. That is something I must be very careful with, not that I write that, but I could write a joke and it doesnt show a good testimony
Its tricky because sometimes when you are on the internet a picture of a women half naked will just pop up,im lucky i am a women but imagine when a guy see this. We need to just be careful and watch what we are doing, if we speand less time on the internet then we wont be tempted as much. The devilcan use this a weapon and you wont even know it
This will definitely help many youths to grow as on the internet will spend less time on worldly things, making us give more attention to the right things and also in pleasing God even when using a computer.
