Meditating about Joshua and Caleb today (Joshua 14), God spoke to me: "IF YOU ARE GOING TO FOLLOW ME, DON'T EXPECT A CROWD."
When we are determined to follow the faith God has put in our heart, we will almost always look around us and see people who are in a whole other dimension - one of doubt, sameness, complacency, and indifference. We wonder why they haven't heard God's voice just like we have.
Well, Joshua and Caleb were two in two million. Out of two million people, only those two men heard God's voice. The rest chose to hear something else.
So, remember, sometimes you have to look around you but forget WHAT and WHO you see. Just keep going!

I found it interesting when you said in the meeting last week how we sometimes look around us and ask ourselves 'Could everybody be wrong? Do I really want to be the only odd one in the crowd?'
Then again, that's how one makes a difference!
My english is very bad, but i wil go put one comment about this:
This is true. We can to do the difference in two or five millions of people, but don't can look for the sides.
I'am sorry, i will go study english. I need of time for this. (lol)
Congatulations for this message. Very good, i understand everything.
I was meditating on this message and it shows me that if i look around me today i will only see broken families misery unemployment bussiness closing down and as we all know we a living the credit crunch but if i keep my eyes in god's promises i will see the fulfilment of his words in my life as joshua and caleb saw.
God bless you bishop and please keep posting
"Look around and forget what you see" Interesting frase, sometimes we begin to do something, something that will make a difference, but since its human nature to look around, we tend to give ears to wut we see and end up not reaching what we wanted. I myself have a saying... " see, learn, make mistakes learn from them and move on. People tend to get stuck in wut they see, not looking at the bigger price.
Poxa.. pena que não está em português..
I was reading this yesterday and as i started to meditate about it i saw that many are the times that we neutralise our faith our desires sometimes even our spiritual dreams just becaues there is no one to accompany us in that journey but when we know wat u want u just shut ur ears and look forward wether u have a companion or not,
I found it very interesting because, one of these days I was thinking of how we leave ourselves to be influentiated by other people. Mainly by people who is above u. You leave this person's thoughs determinate yours and sometimes you do not even perceive it. I want to be more independent from people because of that.
This message is the reality of life for those who have truly made that decision to follow God. I find that even in church; I sometimes see and hear things from certain people that makes THINK. Well I have to accept that not everyone would be in the same spirit and must keep on walking alone with God.
I must not be afraid to stand out for all the right reasons.

I think that one of the hardest things to do in life is to look forward and move on. As human beings, we always want to feel accepted or in some cases, "part of the crowd"... But I think the only way to be able to progress in life is to go against the currents of this world. Imagine if the creator of the Internet or facebook would have just accepted "it's too complicated" or "it too risky" as an answer, we would not have advanced as a culture to be where we are today. To make a difference, you must be the difference.
Thanks Bishop,
This message is really helpful because the decision we make sometimes and God has placed inside of us when we do look around us and people are questioning or because they are going in different direction from them makes us even question itself.
We should never expect people to agree with us or even follow us in the direction we heading and never worry because that is when our faith and eyes is towards God and noone else.
Caleb and Joshua is excellent, because how else can you make a difference or be different we are going the same way. I will continue to focus my eyes on God for Him to lead me.

About the massage Bp you said the other day in CT let us allow the Holy Spirit to guide us and we mustn't stand in way of the Holy Spirit. if we can look our situatio problems people around us then we won't be victoriuos. GOD created us to conquer. Thank u Bp.
I like this post very much Bishop,it remind me of the course had for those would wishes to serve God..it was about 21 days of very strong service! first week was liberation, and then knowing things we need to learn about serving God and His Spirit and the last week was the Seeking of the Holy Spirit. I was in the middle of people that were int he church way before me...people that when started to go to the church i wasn't born...So we were there all together seeking and all with one goal only..which was serving God. And i overheard some joking about the fact that I was newer in church and yet i was in this preparation with the others. I did heard it and really forgot what I heard..because honestly I want to be like Joshua and Caleb, the two out of two million! My desire is to serve God and I'm not moving my eyes from that goal! :)
forgeting what you see is not an easy thing to do but if you want what is best for your life and spiritual life you just need to turn blind and continue going forward.
For you to go ahead with your life you have to forget about the former thong or the things that you see.
If you can just stop living by sight, you can go forward in life. This is very interesting bishop.
thank you
I have been thinking about this recently and have found it to be very true. One can get very discouraged upon looking around and finding yourself the "odd" one. But this IS how one person can make a big difference.
It is true,
there have been many times when i have felt dissheartened because i have seen no one see the same as me, in these times i say "wait a minute- did i come to the faith alone- or with a crowd" our relationship with God is individual- and all that matters is that u do as He says- and do it PROPERLY!
To be a Christian we have to go against the crowd.
It often hurt me and I thought many times why aren't people seeings things for what they really are, why aren't they the glowing in the light instead of falling in the dark.
Then God showed me
God gives everyone and speaks to every one, but not every one listens.
